At 77 miles it makes a great weekend ride in beautiful country. Congratulations on honoring a great trail along a gorgeous river.

Not only is the depot wonderful, but the trail is about the best we've ever been on. It is perfectly smooth asphalt about 8-feet wide, with a smooth 6-foot gravel path on the side. It goes thru woods that are delightful and on hot days the trees act as mother natures air conditioner. Our round trip is about 25 miles, but you can go further if you want.

We will welcome you with open arms and you will never forget the beauty of a summer in Michigan. If you come in the winter many of these same trails are open for snow machines as long as there is a 4" snow pack. Michigan trails also are great for cross country skiing!

While I DO think infrastructure is a proper role for government, when did doing good things for the community become just the government's responsibility? If it's good for the community, why can't the community come together, raise money for these types of projects, and not depend on the government for everything?

It also opens the eyes of local government to see why LOCAL government should help back any and all efforts to support, organize and follow through with local trail movements. I have personally witnessed the regrowth of downtown sections of my home in winter garden fl.

Store fronts that were boarded up and ready for the wrecking ball to be replaced by yet another GAS station we simply don't need,to a quaint coffee, bike shop, antique shops with outside tables to enjoy a beautifully fall day. They are ALL no matter what size town or city a boon to the economic community. People with businesses that were barley scraping by now have 500 cyclist going by there place of business in single weekend. Enabling them continue to stay open. And the spin offs from that....pay taxes, creates employment opertunities BECAUSE the business in now thriving and needs more help. And on and on. It's all a plus. Please continue your great efforts on keeping the public aware of the struggle we will ALWAYS be faced with when dealing with negative portions of government weather city, state or frederal. I salute you. Tailwinds
