On Saturday, December 11, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) teamed up with Casey Trees to plant 29 trees on the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Washington, D.C. More than 50 volunteers braved chilly winter weather for the community tree-planting event, adorning the trail with a variety of species including Cherokee sweetgum, Kentucky yellowwood, Eastern Redbud, paperbark maple, crape myrtle, golden raintree and saucer magnolia.
